Also they have an agreement with Artin and the Madness line will have cars released with Artin sets in Europe.
Personally just because they changed there name doesn't mean they fixed the quality issues. If they want to get my business back they need to keep the detailing and have better quality under the hood. people can say what they want about putting money into a car but not everyone can afford to sink and extra 30 to 40 bucks in every car they have. RTR cars should run well out of the box. Sadly my 6 year old nephews $25 super resistant scaley runs the same lap times as my 60 dollar fly cars. and even most slot racers admit the Fly Fliers cars ran better than most of the normal line out of the box and the Flyers were the "cheap" line. |

ra7... - You don't buy Fly's for their performance, but rather for their bodies and details...that they make life "interesting" once you try
to run them on your track is just an added bonus...
Really - think of all the skill sets that would go unlearned if all cars were like Slot.It's...

Da Vols wrote:That's true. I learned quite a bit from Fly cars. Fly's most recent offerings were definitely better runners out of the box than their older stuff. They'd even fixed a number of issues on the 917K's, which were always a pain. Most of their new stuff isn't nearly as headache-prone, but since there are so many older cars floating around out there, those older cars are contributing to their bad reputation today. Re-branding is an old trick. When you feel your current service is better than what you've done in the past, you rename the company to avoid association with the old stuff, basically wiping the slate clean. Allegheny Airlines (nicknamed 'Agony Airlines') rebranded itself to become US Air, and now it's on par with other airline services. The memories of Allegheny disappeared relatively quickly, but if they'd tried to turn their reputation around while still using the Allegheny name, they would have had a long uphill battle. The most recent Fly cars have often been up for SCI's "Best Car of the Year" in many categories in the last two years. If they produce their relatively trouble-free cars under the new brand name, their older cars won't sour new guys on the brand. Veterans will just have to work their way through it, but new guys won't have that negative association.
Last week I helped my friend stay put. It's a lot easier than helping someone move. I just went over to his house and made sure that he did not start to
load sh** into a truck.

Prior to Fly's demise - and resurection - I wondered to myself how long the company could keep producing limited run liveries before running out of models
to produce.
I'm no expert but it would seem that the most popular liveries and cars were produced long ago. Are there any GT40 liveries they haven't produced? Maybe that was the reason for the Playboy models and it was the reason for the 10th aniversary models. They just didn't have any more popular liveries that they could produce? Maybe Fly had to restructure just to be able to start with a new playing field - both in production methods/location and models they could produce? While it might effect collector $ values, I'd love to see new releases of previous Fly classics liveries - it would open up a whole new following for sloters who missed out on the original releases!! |

I'd love to see new releases of previous Fly classics liveries - it would open up a whole new following for sloters who missed out on the original releases!! I defintely would like to see that too. Kurt - I don't know if the better quality control would be a good thing - I kinda likened Fly's to a box of Cracker Jack's - you never knew what the surprise was inside... Then again, the Fly March I recently got had a bent motor shaft so hope springs eternal...!!!
