Pink tires? Oh yeah... |

Discovered I could make bubblegum tires by mixing red and white. There are no rules against this right?

Candies can still be had. I think PM still has some in 1/24 scale. I used to use Magoo's Blues back in the day too. How about AJ's Red Devils?

I used Candies Competition Supergrips silicone tires back in the mid '60s. They came in just about any color except black. I always triesd to get the dark
gray ones, but I bought some pink ones when no better color was available.

LOL...that should cheer Bruce up
It does take you back doesn't it? I remember mostly local guys mixing them up for HO. We had everything. Marbleing, solids...you could certainly pick your car out on the track. "They Didn't Say You Couldn't" - Smokey Yunick

I remember those Candies Competition Supergrips, they formed their own tread pattern after running them for a while, very soft tires. The best looking ones
were the Cox Sil-Slicks, American mag style wheels, black silicone rubber with white lettering, cool.

Thanks guys...yeah, I like em...I am at the end of this batch of Vytaflex 40 so on my next order (in a couple of months or so) I will order up some green and
blue dye...or should I get yellow and green? Yellow and blue? Think of the colors!!
My latest batch is currently blackberry purple. (red with black). To get maroon (or whatever you call burgandy) I mix a bit of white in with black and red. I was thinking these pink tires would go well on the pink slot cars like the Fly 935...must get that one down form the shelf. Cheers, Mike PS - they grip too well! The new MRRC GT likes to almost pop a wheelie...why did they put such a honking motor in that car??? |
