Has been a long time to get this done. In between reviews and life, and since I covered it on the forums...well, I just got caught up.

Looks good. This is the kind of track that gets newbies' attention and has "possible" written all over it. Good job.
While I'm thinking about it, I have been wondering about something. I see you smoothed the surface a few places with red Bondo. A guy who does bodywork came to see me when I was straightening out that curve on my track last year, and he said I would have been happier with the smoothness if I used the finer grain gray stuff. Have you ever seen gray Bondo? And what is smoother than Bondo, for cryin' out loud? I have to be careful or it makes a slick on my track, its so smooth.

Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Rob, I don't see where that would make any difference. Once you paint over it with your surface of choice, well that's it? I mean, unless I am missing something? Like you said, the standard Bondo is pretty smooth to me? "They Didn't Say You Couldn't" - Smokey Yunick

Well, I just wanted make sure I wasn't missing something. I'm sure he knew his stuff, but I suspect we have different standards than he does for
smoothness. Thanks for the response.

I own a body shop and for filling in a slot a better grade of bondo wouldn't make much difference.
Most plastic filler is pretty much the same. Variations in "smoothness" or how creamy the filler is how a body man would rate bondo as good or bad. As far as for color, different manufacturers have different color hardeners that make the fillers final shade of blue, red or gold. And I've found that almost all hardeners will work with any brand of filler. But I've almost quit using bondo to fill seams and nail holes, way to hard to sand. Spackle or drywall mud is way easier and lasts forever. But you can't beat bondo for filling a routing mistake. Oh yeah, ...cool track Harry and nice build article.

...Or in my case, filling and making the same mistake again, then re-re-filling, and so on...
