Night at the race track... |

After a couple of year's worth of absence, i headed to the local racetrack last night when i heard the ESS Sprint Cars were in my area for 2 races (Granby
and Drummondville, Quebec). I used to head out to the racetracks just about every weekend when i was younger, since my dad was a race car driver. I realised
how much i missed it last night. Spent a great night with a good buddy of mine, having a few beers and some hotdogs...! Here are some pics.

Great shots... I'm really shocked there aren't more slot car options of these types of cars.

I live in Maine and have been to those tracks a few times to see the URC Sprints race years ago.
Nothing like a cold Molson and dirt in your teeth!!! And when i was there, you could buy BEER in the pits as the racing was going on!!! Try that at your local track in the stats!! LOL!!! Terry |

Here are some more pics...Too bad, as the night went on, my camera had a hard time capturing the action cleanly...
I looked around the stands to see if it was a good idea to bring my boys there for their first time sometime soon. They just turned 4 (twins) and was hoping to introduce them to some racing, so they can see it live...Figured though a night race might be a bit too much though, due to the late hours? There are some tracks that have day races, maybe i'll start with those...Any thoughts? Any of you brought their kids at a very early age? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

RM, my Dad took me to Watkins Glen back in '67 for my first look at racing, it was pretty incredible. My Mom however took a dim view of it, (her being a
nurse and all) reading Pop the riot act, saying my hearing may have been damaged (WHAT MA!)
.
Apparently all is well, and at 46 I can still tune my guitars by ear, but it's something you might want to consider. I notice that at many venues you see small children wearing noise-canceling headphones, along with sunglasses to save their little retinas from scorching

Great pics!
6 is about the right age to get them to a race as they appreciate it, then. At 8 - 10 you get them into a Kart and go racing. |

Awesome..thanks for sharing. And agree with the big boss Shawn...its time these were done in 1/32. If we can have motorcycles that don't work and Mario
karts...asking for these is not out of line

My dad started taking me to the race track in 1956 when I was two years old. I started taking my kids when they were four years old. My kids liked going but
they never became addicted to racing like I did but they did enjoy it at the time.
