Hmmmmmmm...I still have a pair of those AE slimlines sitting around - one for this Ferrari and one for a R-M Jaguar might make for a nice pairing.

I got mine last week. Just like you Harry I was going to pass but I can“t resist a good looking 250 GTO, although I have a couple from Fly already.
The Scalex version has a beautiful deep red color which is almost good enough reason alone to buy it - the photos in the flyer above capture the shade pretty well, at least on my screen. The body differs slightly from Fly, I'm not good enough to determine which is the more accurate. The rear window & roof on the Scalex version don't look quite right to my eyes, but overall it is absolutely beautiful. The motor is in front and without magnet it's a bit of a handful on my track, so far. Should be OK with some weight and adjustments. Think I might get another...

What is this, 250 GTO month? If someone is going to spend the money on tooling, how about something different, like an SWB or 275GTB/4?

Or how about getting it right? That raised-eyebrow top edge of the windshield looks wrong to me, every time I see a photo. Yes, I realize the cars were hand
built and differed, but I have never seen that "look" on a real 250 GTO.

On the fence on this one. I was thinking of getting it, but I see lots of cars coming out of the pipeline in the next few weeks so I may have to be a
selective shopper.

Until I see this one up close, I'm not gonna pass judgment. I'm not excited about the curves I'm seeing, though. Scalextric has an unbelievable
talent for taking Angelina Jolie and making her look like Meryl Streep.

Yabbut, Meryl Streep is a better actress! I agree that AJ would win the Concours D'Elegance, but the actual race might require talent. Yes, the metaphor,
she is stretching.
Mr. OneHotDog, No, sir, I am not going to buy one. Well, maybe some day. My old Revell GTO's look better, to me, and my Fly car looks like a Michelin Man GTO. Great detail, poor scale. Didja know it's in 1/29, by overall width (Fly, not Scalex)?

I'm with El on this one, I'll have to see it first, then make my decision....But really, how many of these do we need? The first slot car I ever bought
was a Revell 1/32 Ferrari 250 GTO with the aluminum adjustable chassis. That started the whole shebang.

One can never have too many Ferraris, real or toy. And given how the 250 series had so many body types, there can be dozens of versions! Hopefully some will be
accurate... This chassis number alone had at least two radically different bodies. I'm sure I'll get the Scalextric to give these others company.
Look here for the Fly and Monogram cars.

Ordered one today, I traded the Fly 250 I had away, but I can compare to the Monogram kit. Photos and driving impressions when it arrives next week.

This car looks great.
Runs fine so far but what tires should I put on
it for no-mag running?

I did get to see one last night, but I didn't drive it. I don't know how Scaley did it, but they took some really interesting curves from a 1:1 car
and made a bland slot car out of them. It's a decent looking car, the finish is very nice. The detailing is surprisingly behind Fly's version -- I
thought it would have been closer. The standout items were the so-so wheels, there is almost no detail showing separate body panels, and the glasswork is not
good, like it's not molded right to fit under the roof. Along with the odd framing around the windshield, this really made it look like a toy. I'm
sure it will have its fans, though. I'll save the bucks for something else.
