Since you haven't received an answer since you posted the question, I would have to assume that what you see is what you get . It looks like a re-cap because it is a re-cap, or at least a reproduction of a re-cap. I will, however, go so far as to be critical, though I mean no offense to Kevin... but purely from a marketing survey point of view, I wouldn't buy anything that looked like that, and I wouldn't sell anything that looks like that either. It just looks like a very rough mockup pre production model to me. That tire however could be easily improved upon Assuming that it is at least concentric to begin with, by mounting it on a wheel, and then filling in the obvious void spaces with either beeswax, or little kids modeling clay, mounting it on an axle, chucking it into a slow turning motor and using fingers to re-model the sidewall contouring detail. Then that should be used as a master to make a new mold. The first tire and mold should be considered an investment casting, (like one invested time and materials) in order to be able to pull out an actually finalized copy.
