The Chrysler will be pushed under the tarp in the back of the shop as the Boyz start building TWO Gobers--this one and another in 1/43!
Now I have to figure out how to backdate them to 1939 coupes.

The Lindy 40 Ford from Model Roundup pulled into the Nerf Fab Shop; decals from another source are en route. Kit included some nice flame decals.

Nice one Nerf!
And not too much difference between the 2 cars (39-40) Of course fine scale folks will catch it. "They Didn't Say You Couldn't" - Smokey Yunick

AMT made a 1939/1940 Ford Coupe and a sedan. As I recall, about the only difference between the two was the grill. One of the two had a wide chrome grill while
the other had a narrow chrome grill. I have a 39/40 sedan on the way. When it arrives I'll see what the differences are.

Patrick, some of the AMT 39 sedan boxes were mislabeled as coupes. Saw one of those incorrect boxes on the Bay a few weeks back.
The 39 sedan will make an outstanding jalopy.

The Gober Sosebee car you have pictured is a 1937 Ford coupe.

Placard claimed it was a 39, as was the Red Vogt machine in the background. Even Gober's boy, who restored the actual #50, said it was a 39 Ford. Needs
investigatin'
Aha, tis a 39!

You're right it is a 1939 Standard. I thought it was a 1938, hit the 7 by mistake in my previous post. In the thirties Ford used the previous years
DeLuxe front ends on the next years Standard models. That's what threw me off. I don't know if there has ever been a model of a 1939 Standard coupe or
sedan. You might have to find a 1938 DeLuxe, if one has ever been made, and graft the front end to your 1939 body.

I think I'll follow Harry's implied lead and give Gober a phantom 40 coupe.

If the grille bars on the model run vertically, and it looks like they do, you can pass it off as a 1939 DeLuxe. Not a whole lot of difference in a 39 and 40
other than the grille and the tail lights. The 39 had teardrop tail lights and the 40 had chevrons.

The hood is also a bit different--the 40 has a steady, deeper line on the vertical sides wheras the 39 is a flatter design with a hawk-like tip up front. The
"sides" of the 40 hood were actually part of the 39's body.
