I wish I had a picture of this before I started on it. I got this in a box of the cheap Strombecker track at an auction. When I got it the body was almost pink
it was so dull and the drivers head was missing as were the windshield and head lights. The wheels only had two tires and they were rotted. There was no guide
flag.
This had been sitting around here for a couple of years with nothing being done to it. Last week I spotted it in a box of stuff and decided to finally do something with it. The first thing I did was break out the Novus plastic polish and go to work on the body. It polished up really nice. Then I painted the molded in driver figure and started looking for a head for it. I finally located a interior that came with a RMS body and cut the head off it and it was just right. Cut a windshield out of a Dr. Pepper bottle and glued it on. Then I went to work on the chassis. The front wheels had ribs and Ninco classic tires fit perfectly. The rear wheels did not have ribs so I cut a narrow strip of styrene and glued it to the wheels so they now had ribs and slipped on the Ninco tires there too. Used an Artin guide flag from the parts box, not a perfect fit but it works. Roundels are price stickers and the numbers are Parma peel and sticks.
I still need the headlight inserts so if anyone has a junk one of these laying around with the headlights still with it please let me know. Thanks.
