Stripping sticker residue??? |

Hey there everyone. I've one of my Artin ex-Digi Porsches set aside for one of my Formula D drift car projects. The car can be seen here: http://www.0-60mag.com/online/wp-content/uploads/2007/09/_l554486.jpg Now, the
Artin Digi cars were covered with chessy paper stickers. In my impatience, I just peeled them off. Which left the car covered in nasty residue. I don't
really need to strip any paint, because it's just bare styrene, just the stickers. What do you guys suggest? OH, and I guess I'll do the two birds one
stone thing here. The car is yellow plastic, and as you can see above my scheme has a lot of white in it. What white paint do you guys suggest to cover it
well? Thanks a lot.

For the stickers, use Goo-Gone.
For the white paint, I have no clue actually...I rarely (if ever) paint a car with a white paint scheme.

For removing sticker residue, I use Zippo lighter fluid. It works really well and doesn't hurt any of the plastics or the clear windshields. After that I
use Pledge Multi Surface Anti-Static Cleaner that you use on electronics to clean the lighter fluid residue and then it is ready to paint.
Can't help you on the white paint though.

Well, I would suggest a good coat of gray primer first. This will help cover the yellow and of course gives you a good base for your white paint. Wally World
primer works for me

When I worked at a body shop, we used WD-40 to remove stickum puckey as you describe from pin stripe removal.

Goo gone is amazing for sticker residue. I've had very good luck with Tamiya white primer as a base coat. 50s

Testors "One Coat" Lacquer White works great with 2 coats over any color. With a light color base, 1 coat is all it takes and it's very glossy.
Their other colors are really nice too, kinda like metallic colors even the black.
