Pete,
That's why you sell 3 or 4 cars to get the cash for the BRM. That way when the Mrs.' sees it...you can say I actually downsized to get this car honey. If you don't spend $, but just relocate it...how could she get upset Nobady said it would be easy. http://www.slotcargarage.com/

Just another item some guy with too much money will be paying about $5000 for a still sealed package on some version of ebay in about forty years.
Comic books, motorcycles, old cars, baseball cards, diecasts, and slots whats left for the person who in it for the passion not the collectability? |

Sweet!
What size are the axles? Are just the wheels and tires available? They would look great on my converted Tamiyas I'd have the MOMO coming but Bruce has already closed for the day! I gotta have one! Dave

Re: BRM | ||

If 0.125 still equals 1/8" or 3.17mm the wheels possibly could be bored to fit U.S axles or maybe there are custom bushings available. (Slick7 ?)
I need the rears from the ADVAN (and some of Kevin's tires?) for this... ![]() "I'd Rather Be Racing!"

Right ON! Beautiful car. Thanks Dave for alerting me to this one.
I would agree that a price of $99 would be great but that's some work and I'll buy one! Want more rims...want more rims... |

Dave, Just let me know what you need. I have my eye on one of these cars too! They are gorgeous and pretty hard to resist. I have never spent that much on one car before.

Hey guys,
The 1/24 axles are 3mm and the 1/32 are 3/32. That Shell car looks sweet. Bruce |

Bruce,
Just got home, 1:55 Arizona time, 4:55 yours and jumped on the phone to order. The guy that answered says he can't sell slotcars and that you leave at 3:30. I can't take off work early to call in an order with credit card and I don't see web shopping on your site. How can we get together? Do you work Saturday? I want to buy or order the MOMO! Kevin, Let me see if I can get a car , I'll order some other tires too I know the BRM seems pricey but there is a JK 4.5" chassis ($20) and Parma DeathStar ($12) Parma Gear ($3) a pair of ProTrack tires ($eight) and an OverDrive light kit ($eighteen) under this Shell Tamiya 962 model ($30 x2) of which I bought two, one for the yellow base color and one for the decals + many hours building and fabbing pieces. Even a 1/24 TSRF with all the goodies and a Tamiya body is at least a buck and a half! And you have to piece it all together like this; ![]() Dave Deuble "I'd Rather Be Racing!"

Allright!
It's usually not a good thing that I have to get up a 4 a.m. but it was today! I placed my order for the MOMO car with Bruce. Thanks Bruce! Let us know if the 1/24th wheels become available, I'll need several sets. Dave Deuble FIRST EDIT; (P.S.) Eric, That was probably one of the the most well written reviews I've ever read. Great Work! SECOND EDIT; (P.S.S) The Porsche 956/962 factory cars had the finned body to rear wing endplates like those on the cars pictured above. I believe the cars BRM has modeled were either Joest or Kremer designs with the wing supported only on center struts. Anyone know for sure? "I'd Rather Be Racing!"

Dayble,
I just read your post. Thanks for getting up so early. When I commented that "boy you're up early" and you said you were just heading off to work. I didn't think much of it. Most of the guys here are here to sell 1-1 car parts. Tony and myself are the only two that handle the slots. If you need anything in the future, shoot me an e-mail. Bruce g2172@aol.com |

I get up at 4 for the day job but I'm a mild mannered slot racer by night!
Thanks for shipping the car so quickly, it is really cool. I put it together in just a few minutes then tore it down and blueprinted everything. One thing that bugs me are the rear bushings, on any other car I would glue or solder them in so they don't spin in the uprights but I'm not sure what the designer's thinking was on these so I'll wait and see how they work. The rest of you guys got to get one of these! ![]() Dave Deuble "I'd Rather Be Racing!"

$139. is CHEAP! | ||

Just got back from the Local Raceway, Tuff Traxx in Mesa AZ. They have a couple of mid size 6 & 8 lane wood commercial tracks, one (6 lane) with mag braid and the big 8 lane with regular braid. The BRM ran VERY WELL on both. This car is incredible, it slides through the corners in a consistant and forgiving manner. These guys use a ton of glue for their foams and even though the stock hard rubber tires got a heavy coating of crude the car handled well. It finally started to chatter and rattle after 50 laps of gunk built up on the skins.
I wasn't sure when I got there if the car would even run because Thursday night on my track, after sanding the tires and running a handful of laps, one of the lead wire eyelets broke just behind the circle that the screw goes through. I have to admit I was suprised as I had taken a lot of care installing everything. Maybe I had it at too much of an angle. (I had tried to set it flat) Anyway this got my attention because here is a failure right off the bat on a car for which I can't get parts!!! (common eyelets are too big) So...here in the USA we punt! I dug through my parts and found a TSRF #TSP-1 guide for 1/32 and it fit perfectly with the brass bushing and a touch of solder on each of the leads. The trick to doing this is to flip the motor over so the lead wires are a bit longer. Now the left wire is on the left side of the guide and V.V. rather than being crossed over one another under the axle. It worked perfectly! This car is so balanced and forgiving that it is a true pleasure to drive. My hat is off to the designer and to BRM. They have a product that not only is beautiful in form but also in function, a real feat!! Yesterday morning I ordered my K&D urethane super tires from Kevin, I cant wait to add them to this package and improve it even more! Dave Deuble "I'd Rather Be Racing!"

Re: $139. is CHEAP! | ||

These cars are great! I had the chance to help test them out for a review on another slot car forum- just spectacular in quality as well as racing performance. They raced equally well on Carrera and wood tracks, with and without banked turns. Only problem i had was i have some front wheel rub on one car, none on the other, so i need to disassemble and figure out what is wrong on one car.
I was told that their 1/32 rims fit 2.5 mm sized axles vs 3/32. Have yet to try them to check the correct axle size. I purchased several Tamiya and other model kits of various Porsche 956/962 and Ferrari 917s ($30-$45 each), a TRSF chassis rtr (approx $50), and that chassis does not work on the track! I am told of the various modifications to make that thing work......and then i need to buy different rear wheels and tires, a body mounting thingamajig, etc etc.....by the time i am done, it will be way over $100 just in parts, model kit, paint, then all of the work to assemble and paint, etc etc.....so at $139 and basically an easy to assemble rtr/kit, it is a bargain. Carrera and Auto Art 1/24 cars do not compare to this! These cars may be ones that do not get raced hard much, but heck- most of my Fly cars stay sealed in the box on display too! If you are into 1/24 scale, these are the way to go for something that is a modern version of what was done over 40 years ago (Revell, Monogram, etc) with today's handling performance. when you purchase one of these, you will not be sorry!
