Well, awhile back I cleaned up a few Lancias that we had not raced in quite awhile, so this time it was one of its running mates, The Fly Capri.
This car has long been one of my favorite Fly cars, although tuning them is required to set things right. This one was untouched basically, with only a few laps on it. So it got the full treatment of bushings glued, wheels and tires sanded, motor glued to stop the rockin' and some braid clean up.
After all this, I removed the interior by grinding the post-melts away. Then gave her a bath. After she was clean, a good coat of Future (Pledge, Whatever) and finally a buffing with Turtle wax.
Great running cars! This one needed tires though as these have simply dried out too much and are harder than Chinese arithmetic.
This is plenty fun too...and honestly helps the old budget. Might as well get these cars out and give them some running time!
So maybe this weekend, you might go through some of your older cars and see what you can find.
