I wanted to include all makes of 1/43 slot cars for this one - I think we need to include manufacturers that are trying to
support us - like Ranch Design, SCX, and Jeff with Jiada. It doesn't make a lot of sense to keep them out of what is shaping up to be a yearly event
in 1/43
But adding more cars and rules introduces new problems. I tried to address as many as I could think of - but if you think this is getting too complicated - well - you know we like it complicated around here :-)
I threw in the minimum weight as an equalizer.
I added more spots on the points table - It's hard to figure out who's in last place when 4 people have the same
last place score - hopefully this will help.
Let me know what you think about the pit stop idea - it could give someone who finishes last or near last (without a DNF) in
the first couple of races a chance to bounce back.
SCK III SUGGESTED RULES

excessively (as determined by the track operator) it can be given a DNF. Suggested ground clearance is 0.02 inches (0.5mm)
MINIMUM WEIGHT:
1.5 ounces
PIT KITS:
Each owner will send a "pit kit" for their entries. Pit Kits should consist of extra motors, guide pins/flags, wheels/tires, anything that is
easily changeable by the track operator should moderate damage occur to the entry. Use of the pit kit does not carry any penalty.
THE PIT STOP:
After the 2nd race any owner can ask for his car(s) to be shipped home for tweaks,
repairs and further modifications without a points penalty. (This is optional - you can just let your cars go straight to the next race) The car that an
owner returns to the 3rdrace must have the same body and still adhere to all rules. All shipping
charges for the PIT STOP (to and from the series) are the owners responsibility. Cars need to arrive 1 day before the start of the
3rdrace.
SHIPPING SCHEDULE
All entries need to arrive at the first track no later than 1 day prior to race day. Acceptance of late entries is at the discretion of the track operator.
Once an event is complete, the track operator must ship the entries to the track operator of the next event in a timely manner. Races will have at least 3
weeks in between, so this will hopefully not be an issue. Postage will be by Priority Mail with Delivery Confirmation as these are tracked by the Post
Office.
For any races held outside of the United States - they will be scheduled 4 weeks from the previous race and 4 weeks before the next race to allow time for
shipping and customs processing. There will also be 4 weeks between races 2 and 3 for PIT STOPS
Any track operator who keeps the cars and the fee money will be hunted down and die a slow death.
THE FEES
The entry fee for each race is $2.50 per car per race - (example: 1 car for 8 races is $20 - 2 cars for 8 races will be $40)
Entry fees must be sent to the SCK Cup Series Manager (how's that for a title) before the first race.
The car(s) of a team that has not paid before the first race will not be sent to the next race and will only be returned when the team owner sends the
track operator money for postage.
The entry fees will be used to cover shipping costs from event to event in one box to cut the costs of postage - and to return the cars to their owners at
the end of the series.
Entry fees will not cover the PIT STOP or DNFs
The customs cost of sending the entries out of the United States and back will be considered part of the postage cost and paid for out of the entry fees
At the end of the series, after all postage and customs fees have been paid - the remaining funds will be donated to the Home Racing World forum.
THE RACE:
PRACTICE:
Each car will be on the track for 10 practice laps prior to each heat on each lane.
RACE:
Each car will run one(1) 25 lap heat on each of two lanes.
The best 20 lap times of each 25 lap heat will be averaged, then the average times of the two heats will be averaged, this average will be your race score.
Lowest score wins. In the event of a tie the car with the fastest lap time will be the winner. If fastest lap times are the same the next two fastest lap
times will determine the winner, and so on. If all lap times are identical, a winner will be chosen by the track owner at random.
FINISH:
The finishing positions will be determined by your race score as indicated above. The lowest race score will be first, next lowest score will be second,
and so on.
DNF:
Any entry that is damaged and cannot continue will be given a DNF and awarded last place finish points.
The track operator will determine whether the entry is repairable using the cars Pit Kit and continue racing or if a DNF will be given.
In the event more than one entry is damaged and given a DNF, the entry with the fewest laps completed will be awarded last place finish points. The entry
with the next fewest laps completed will be awarded next to last place finish points and so on.
DNF entries will be returned to their owners at the completion of the race (unless the owner wants it to go straight to the next race).
After the owner repairs the car - it can be sent to the next race without a points penalty.
The car the owner returns to the next race must have the same body and still adhere to all rules. All shipping charges for the DNF (to and
from the series) are the owners responsibility. Cars need to arrive 1 day before the start of the next race.
(If an owner wishes to withdraw from the series, they may request their cars be returned. Once withdrawn, the owner forfeits all points. The owner may
re-enter the series at the next race (or later) but with zero points. No entry fee refunds.)
TRACK OPERATORS:
Anyone who would like to volunteer to host a race in this series - you should have the following:
- a lap timer capable of recording all lap times
- a good power supply (at least 1 amp) - races should be run between 10 and 15volts (but this is up to the operator)
A few things to consider:
- The host for race 1 will need to inspect all cars for rule adherence. You will need a weight scale. As a famous man named Chuck once said - "Tech
will be brutal!!!"
- The host for race 2 will be in charge of shipping the cars for the PIT STOP - you will need to coordinate the shipping with the car owners. This race
will not be outside the United States.
- The host for race 3 will need to inspect any returned cars from the PIT STOP for rule adherence. You will need a weight scale. This race will not be
outside the United States
- The host for the last race is in charge of shipping all cars back to their owners. This race will not be outside the United States.
THE POINTS
Points will be awarded based on finishing position in each race as follows:
FINISH POSITION POINTS
First..............................100
Second..........................98
Third.............................96
Fourth...........................94
Fifth..............................92
Sixth..............................91
Seventh.........................90
Eighth...........................89
Ninth ............................88
Tenth.............................87
Eleventh........................86
Twelfth and lower.........85
BONUS POINTS - The entry with the lowest overall single lap of all entries that finish the race on either track will receive
one (1) bonus point.
