R-D has one LMP Coupe body which can easily modified into several LMP types. Lexan and, soon, resin.
The Carrera's are cheap when you consider you get a good body, chassis and motor all of which can be modified to fit your needs. The Penske Porsche and Peugeot may be the best buy in 1/43d.
I will use an R-D lexan for the windows in the Peugeot.

I had a Penske Porsche & I did the same thing to it. It went to a nice young Marine who made me an offer I couldn't refuse. It now has a boxer and comes here occasionally and reeks havoc.
Don't forget the R-D cars are available in lexan & resin, if ya got a spare chassis. That's what the Lola and the Eskudia are/will be based on!

I just love the Protos...I MUST get my hands on the Peugeot and for that matter, the Porsche Spyder as well...looks like an order into SCW is...in order! Yeah, the "mirage" is a jaw-dropper too!!

Thanks for sharing this, I've been wanting to see one some where other than eBay ;-)

1st, Squatch, the answer is Yep. Did until we moved here. Ran Putnam, IRP (ORP), New Market, Mid Ohio & RA, among others. Great tracks all. Several good ones within 8 hours of here, too.

Tonight we got the Peugeot lowered about 2mm, had to use smaller front wheels, but they'll look just like the orginals after painting. Had to grind some plastic off the bod, make a slot for the crown gear and disguised it and trim the sides and take the front spliter off the chassis....

I have a blow up of the Eskudia driver just showing the helmet and eyes posted at HPR next to the Playstation race trainer. The caption is "If you can't concentrate like this, don't get behind the wheel". It is also on my helmet box. WIth the G's we are pulling in shifter karts (same as F1's) you'd better be able to do that.

CJ, I think you need to raise the blades on your mower, that grass is gettin' too short at HPR. Dang cinch bugs have had a feast on the Speedway, here.

Sorry I haven't gotten around to the aforementioned car yet, but it will be done enough to post tomorrow. I also acquired a Carrera version at Frank's great prices and it does need lowering and thus a hole made for the crown gear. That will be easy. Otherwise, Carrera did a repectable job.

Both the 1/32d and 1/43d Carrera (& other manufacturers) cars have a "bubble" for the crown gear. I'll post one of your lexans sometime in the next week with that addition to the body. It's fairly easy. Of course, I'm sworn to silence on what it is, yet.

Why is it that overpriced Carrera GO!!! Peugeot 908's are appearing on E Bay and not at dealers?
