theres a individual just north of town who captures the gases off chicken manure and heats all his chicken houses and hog units with it. Most people wouldn't even think chicken manure was that important.

Hey Matt - where can more info be found on GM's hydrogen vehicles?

Part of the reason our elected "representation" choose not to represent the wishes of their constituents is the large sums of PAC donations made by corporations. They can't find the guts to bite that hand and give government control back to the people - where it started. I've read a few threads that were talking about air power over the last few years, many were designed around recharging at air fill up stations, one of the big hurdles everyone was trying to overcome was the big cost of compressing the gas to a high enough pressure to allow the cars to travel any useful distance between refills.

well we all know that the gov can only push the nation just so far before the nation as a whole does something about it. Usually the gov doesn't like to well when the nation takes matters into there own hands. back in the late 70's the gas prices did the same thing so time will tell. we just have to wait and see what happens. oh yea by the way I did mow the lawn cause the wife said it had to b done.

For about a year,I have been mulling over in my mind a pneumatic powered car. An accumulator will be supplied 250 psi from a two stage compressor off a two cylinder diesel burning recycled cooking oil. An air motor will drive one rear wheel and be computer controlled. The rotary motor will be intrinsically smooth and easy to muffle. The cooking oil, I believe, produces no contaminants with the exhaust. The engine will only run when the air drops below the accumulator setting.

The thing is, we consistently, as a market, reject solutions. Cars aren't the big deal. The US Military is the largest consumer of oil in the world. We have 225 tactical naval vessels, and only 80 are nuclear. We have tons of facilities that rely on oil for heat and electricity. While the government can't really affect the market in any positive way, they can clean their own house. We should stop buying oil for the reserves for two years. We should take that money and invest it...

well folks I worked for an oil company for12yrs. If I would have enough time to set here and tell you all the crap that goes on that the public never heres about you would be way pissed off. Theres one form of business that would bring the fuel prices down in huge hurry and it won't be long before it happens and the nation will be crippled but at this point I really don't give a crap. something has to give. you know the economy is getting bad when wal-mart isn't building any new...

Yep, used to do that all the time. In the '50's it was close to 6 months. Now, depending on the state, it still about the same, as Fed income tax has dropped and States have upped the various taxes. We used to look at the UK and be glad we were in the USA. Now they pay less then we do. We wanted taxation with representation, now what have we got?
Still better overall to live here than anywhere else, though.

Try this excersize:
Add together ALL the taxes you, and your spouse if applicable, pay for a year average. (Don't leave any out.)
Here's a short list to get started: income tax, property tax, annual auto licensing (yes it's a tax), sales tax, fuel tax, ad nauseum

Divide that total by your gross income to find the total percentage of annual taxes paid. That total divided by your monthly income is the number of months of income...

Could be, Lib. But, since we are in NC for a while, there's as much as $.10 (or more) difference in prices from one station to the next. Of course, NC has among the nations highest gas taxes too, @ $.302 per gallon. Indiana's only at $.317

IMHO the big oil companies are involved in racketeering and our illustrious government is doing nothing to investigate. Anytime gas stations, like Casy's and Kum & Go quick stops, are mandated by the oil companies to charge a set amount for gasoline (and they are always all at the same prices) is racketeering! Last Saturday I witnessed one gas station in town was a penny higher than their competitor. This only lasted a short time and...

That's before stock payout and taxes, M1. Wished I'd bought Exxon stock. The idea of Free Enterprise is to make a profit. Just like you want to do with Ranch Design. The opposite is Marks theory of redistribution of wealth, the cornerstone of Communism. Kinda messed up a bunch of countries and still is.
That's one reason we've lived in rented condo's for the last 12 years. We don't worry about lawn maintenance. Or the housing market. Just invest elsewhere....

heck I think I'm not goin to mow my lawn this year. cost me 25 bucks to fill my mower!!!!!!!!! And I will burn that all up just mowing the lawn!!! every week? I don't think so I have better things to spend 25 bucks on like slot stuff.
Did anyone know this tid bit of info? Exxon the biggest oil company made $11 billion last quarter in profits. THATS ONLY THREE MONTHS WORTH OF INCOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah - I had "green sneakers" this weekend too...and slept like ton a bricks...tis the season again.

Sunday I mowed the yard for the first time this season - so the weekly ritual begins.

Tonight after work I took the '65 Triumph for a leg stretcher - felt GREAT!

Got home, spent a little time with the grand daughters while waiting for their mother. (Tipped a couple Buds)

Ma and I got then on the Harley and took a ride. Stopped about half way for another Bud and ran into a longtime friend. Had a cool ride...
