I'd buy that car in a heartbeat, Harry. With Playboy as an actual sponsor, it totally legitimizes it. I'd bet that if Playboy sponsored an actual car and painted a magazine cover on the car, none of us would have a problem buying it (except for the price). We didn't have any problems buying that Lister Storm with the girl on the hood. But I think when it's some lame attempt to 'sex up' the car and call it collectible, we push back and say "Bullsh**!"

I believe it is a confluence of several issues together: higher than Fly normal price (much higher than others then), less desirable fantasy livery, unnecessarally sexualy suggestive, poor US economy, much better options for slot cars.

I agree that is is surely a high price for a fantasy livery, and not even a desireable one like a fake Gulf or Jaegermeister or Sunoco. Of course in puritanical US of A there will be some who view Playboy as a forbidden thing. It surely is not...

There's a guy here in our local club that's buying every one that comes out. I like the 917LH, but can't justify the price for what's on the hood. If it was just a fantasy livery, with numbers and such, then take $20 off the price tag to offset the actual licensing fees. Maybe, just my 2c worth.

I'm OK with the livery, and I would REALLY like a Lister, and the Playboy and Lister combo is lovely.

I'm single, and still enjoy a good girlie mag, but...

HOWEVER.. I just CANNOT justify these to be a shelf queen. And those of you that know me, know I will run EVERY one of my cars. I may not race it competitivly, but I will indeed run it, both on my local track as well as mucho laptimes on my home track, The Willoughby Raceway.

I should add that I was happy enough with the Tomb Raider releases of the Fly Venturi. At least that was real.

Zero interest. Not due to the lack of a real livery, as I am a "realistic" kind of racer, but I have no interest in having someone unfamiliar with the hobby come over and see that in my collection.

There's enough of this type of stuff on T.V., radio, and in our everyday world. I don't see the need to let it creep in this aspect of my life.

Hey Guys its all about marketing, Fly spent thousands of dollars for the Porsche mold, to produce the bodies for the Porsche, and others they need to make up that money to pay for the mold. It happens with diecast the same way. They over produce a model or they make up some fantasy car just to re-spike an interest.

The Playboy cars I think were just a bad bad choice for Fly.

Instead of putting out real liveries, and concentrating on putting out more of a variety of cars, they focused on these which and they really seem to be a flop!

As anyone knows in the business world, if something doesn't make money they'll have to tack over expenses to other projects to make up for the losses. With Fly's prices already passing up everybody elses in new cars, we'll probably see...

Sitting here watching the Rolex series in the distance on the big screen... part of me wonders if FLY was pressured to offer these paintjobs in trade for being given permission to use the Playboy livery on their soon to be released Daytona Prototype/Rolex cars. Hmmmmmmm.....

I think they are pretty silly actually, as mentioned elsewhere, love the hobby for the absolute deluge of models based on actual racing cars, not for the Quasi cool of what is really something a little sleazy (sorry, but gave up girly magazines after high school!)...

Now first off, I enjoy the view of the ads once in a while but is Fly wasting their time and money on these cars? Is anybody buying them? It's OK if you are but we've had next to NO calls at all on these. Even the 917k long tail that normally sells out, I've not had any interest. Just wondering.
