Hey slot car friends,

Haven't seen this asked before so forgive me it has been. I will be rebuilding my permanent track layout in the basement within the next few months and
was wondering what you track building aficionados recommend in term of the height of the table?

The layout I will most likely be going with is L-shaped on a 18'x14' table. My first track was set up on a 30" table I am currently set up on a
24" table. What is the ideal table height...

Thanks for your comments. Love the track. I have to ask, what did you use to do the landscaping?

Michael, the landscaping is plaster/hydrocal casts of rock molds, then just hand painted with a little balast glued down for texture.

I built my first one 30" high (you can just barely see it on the right). I personally would not have it any higher. I built this one (below) at
20"! I wanted to be able to sit down on the couch and race. I like the lower height much better (and it fits under the bigger table!).

Your table surface should be atleast 30" above the flour. We built ours 34" above the flour so that I could race sitting, as I can't stand to
race. My last track had its lowest level at 40", with the highest level at 48". We found that the upper level was too high for easy maintenance on
that track.
