Thanks everyone! I'm trying to get some work done on it this weekend but it's been slow due to being so busy at work and trying to rehab a bad shoulder (adhesive capsulitis) and also working on my other toy a 1:1 scale 2004 Jeep TJ.

Seems the Sprints are catchin' interest all over in various ways. The Semo bunch is taking a hard look at the Sprint Plus kits right now. I just put one together and several of the locals have bought the kits too... we just have to figure what motor to run.. The H&R motor may be our choice...
But I say amen to one of the mass producers comin' out with them!!

Looks good Pa Dirt. Can't wait to see it done. Wish I could find the patience to carve a tail. The style of tail currently in use in 1:1 is not the same that come with the old sprint car kits. From the look of the motor you got in that one it ought to scoot along pretty good.

They wouldn't need to cast the hole thing, roll bars and all... its needs a good balanced chassis and they can injection mold the body and roll cage and heat weld assemble the parts just like they do with 98% of all other RTR cars. With Scaley making 1/32 interiors with the level of detail this one has these there is no reason they couldn't make a decent looking Sprint:

I don't know if anyone will ever mass produce these as I think they'd be pretty tough to cast with the roll cage and all.

No, sorry to say, I don't think I would sell them. I get too attached to my scratch builds. If you go to http://score.dirtslotcars.com/ you can see the basic formula that I used. I just sized mine down to 1/32 scale instead of 1/25 scale. If you go to their site be prepared because these guys build some awesome non wing midgets, sprints and silver crown cars. There is also a link to Hot Laps racing on their where one of the guys sells a lot of the things you need to build these and also...

Here is a midget I'm working on. So far the chassis is scratch built, the wheels/ tires are Monogram and the tail tank is balsa. Added the body panels from styrene sheet. Now I need an engine and header and some paint and decals.
