"Rine-Land Raceway" gets redone

Anyone who's taken a look at the "Readers Roads" on the home page would have seen the very very old layout that I ran for "Rine-Land Raceway".

So I re-did that into another 4-lane.

But as time went on, I decided to make a fast 2-laner.

Adjustable Track Table...HELP/ADVICE

I'm going to soon be building a fairly large table (22 x 12) for my new Carrera layout. From what I have read most people seem to prefer a table hight from about 30 to 45 inches in height for racing. However if I spend much time half -bent at the waist while working on scenery, track, etc. my back KILLS me for about two days. Does anyone know of some table legs I might purchase with which I can raise or lower the table height? Would be better if these legs would be electric or pneumatic...

Carrera Track List for Tom Setzer Layout???

Could anyone provide me with a list of Carrera track & borders needed to make the same layout as Toms? Been looking at many layouits over the past 2 years trying to decide what I might like to do on a larger scale. If Tom dosen't mind...I believe I have found it.

Hey slot car friends,
Haven't seen this asked before so forgive me it has been. I will be rebuilding my permanent track layout in the basement within the next few months and was wondering what you track building aficionados recommend in term of the height of the table?
The layout I will most likely be going with is L-shaped on a 18'x14' table. My first track was set up on a 30" table I am currently set up on a 24" table. What is the ideal...

Some kids were fishing in Oak Tree Pond when one of them snagged the tail bone of Godzilla.
As the local workers grapple it from the depths, an entire skeleton emerges. Nobody realized Stranger
exacted his revenge for the unfortunate loss of his entire left side ( he's still all right ).
By tracking Godzilla down,slaying him in his lair, and feeding the body to the pirahnas in the pond. Boy, they stripped it clean.

After many hours of changing things. Here is what I have decided on as a track. Future plans include some minor elevation changes and lots of home made scenery.

Terraforming the Blacklight Blacktop (Updated 4/10/08)

Now that the teraforming has begun in ernest, I wanted to share a few pictures of the progress. The finished section is made of extruded foam My hot wire skills are still , well let's say developing and the centerpeice was looking pretty choppy, so I decided to add a top coat of sculptamold. I threw in a few rock castings to break it up a little.

These don't go with the Motor Homes so I'm giving them their own thread and not in the Paint forum. I had "plain" tents but decided to customize them for what will be my infield and entrance areas where there will be consessions and some for my pit area. I made a page on my site if you want to download them. I couldn't remember where I got them from to begin with. I put the ones I made there too.

I was thinking someone or we should all agree on a standard track layout that we could all use for comparing laptimes with eachother. I thought it would be cool to be able to compare times with eachother online. we could have different class cars, stock and modified chasis and engine classes.....just a thought. I think it would be cool to basically be able to compare laptimes with someone on the other...

Start Track Set Recomendation

I want to buy a slot car track set for my two sons 8 and 9 respectively. My objective is to buy a simple good quality set in the price range of $150 to $250. As you can imagine, a small child can be rough, so I want to be able to purchase replacement parts easily in U.S. For instance, which size, 1/32 or 1/24? which brand Ninco, Scalextric, Carrera, others?

Having finished the "Dunlop Tower" move, it's time to look at the other end of the layout where I took out the other 2 R1 hairpins.

I'm thinking the top part will be an infield "Motor Home" parking lot where "Fans" can park their motor homes and watch the race. I'll do it up so an access road comes in from the other side of the track. I have an idea that the part that goes downhill from the top to the track will be a small hill where...

Well I'm re-doing my layout.Switching from scaley sport to artin.I really like the artin track,and all of my cars will run on it.

Power Taps

I'm adding power taps to my Scaley Sport layout. What's the general consensus for how many you need?? The track is approx. 60 ft.and I have a Pyramid adjustable power supply. Generally good performance overall but want to even up the distribution around the track.

Also -- was just going to buy the Scaley pre-mades, but will go ahead and make my own and solder them to the track.

So-Cal International Raceway 4X8 routed - anyone build or race this design?

My current routed track "the track with no name" is up and running once again after I added a Laguna Seca type corkscrew in January. It's a bit larger than 4X8 and is ready for landscaping - but I've been holding off because this design has been nagging at the back of my mind. This would add about 10-12 lap length over my current track. Since I'm going to be limited on space for at least the next four years, I really want to make the best of the space I have.
