1/32 Scale Plastic Models - Were they ever popular?

I grew up building plastic models, cars, planes, and ships. Painted them, customized them, displayed them, and blew them up with firecrackers on New Years Eve. Heck even my sister built models. We lived in a small town, but the local drugstores carried what I remember as great selections, with something new every week.
But the cars were 1/24 scale. Today I see old 1/32 car models on eBay and the guys on HRW are building really boss (does that give you a clue?) slot car conversions.

does anyone know where there is any commercial or club home tracks within an hour drive from little rock arkansas. i am from louisville,ky and i will be going to there the second week of june. looking for something extra to do. we mostly have 1/32 cars and a couple of 1/24 cars. just want to take family for some fun.thanks kerry

Saw an add on Cincy Slots where Rod would build custom 1/24 Sprint Cars. E-mailed Bruce but he said he had lost Rods contact. Anyone know where / how I might contact him? I would really like to get a couple of his cars.

Scalextric Challenger system

I'm looking at getting the Scalextric Challenger System that's been out and adapting it to my Artin layout.

I do race with the club once every 2 weeks or so, so the other 90% I'm still the "lone-wolf" racer and need someone to run cars around with other than myself.... maybe I just need more friends

1/32 Racing in South West Ohio is back...

On Saturday June 7th; T/R Motorplex (Miamisburg, OH - south of Dayton, Oh and 20-30 miles north of Cincinnati) will host it's first 1/32 races. The classes will be SCX Nascar (stock); SCX Formula 1 (stock); and Scalextric Trans-Am (L88 Corvette, Mustang, Camaro + add Indy Grip silicones). The races will be $5 per car entered with payouts for each race (only $15 for 3 races). This is a BYOC event. We thought that keeping it stock (or very very close to it) would encourage more...

Electrical Question

I'm not an electrician by no means but i Have accomplised this. I got a 13.8 power supply. I've eliminated the stock Jiada power base. I've added brakes to the track. Made a simple driver station.. Added brakes to my Jiada controller using copper tape. To my astonishment it all works. My Jiada track now has brakes and an aftermarket power supply. One thing though the cars run in the wrong direction. What do I need to do to get the cars going in the other direction. Next question...

Well after atempting to make a cloth top for my DB5 3 times and it beating me down I had to take a break from it and started something new.........I ordered 5 Pontiac GTO, 2 camaro and 1 corvette Revell 1/32 snaptight models from tower hobbies, this is the first GTO. It has the flat black hood and trunk and the rest of the body was painted with Boyd black and Blue pearl paint. from certain angles the car...

Guide flags for Fly cars

Can someone suggest a deeper guide flag which will fit the Fly GT40, Porsche 917K, and the Ferrari 512 Coda Lunga. I am running them on a fairly large 3 lane routed track and would like to re-fit them with something deeper than what they came with. Will any of the Slot-it stuff work?
